Birthday Invites and Thank you!

When I asked my daughter what she wanted me to put on her birthday invites, it was a definite Hello Kitty.  With plenty of coloring book pages available, we printed her out using a printer that uses toner versus the ink jet.  Using the printer gave us the option to use the rainbow deco foil.

The balloons were simply created using circle punches and the Stampin' Up! Owl builder punch.  I used the feet of the owl to create the bottoms of the balloons.

Since I'm not one to let things go to waste in my crafting room, I saved the negative pieces of deco fail and used them to make the thank you's.

Using my Xyron 900, I added permanent adhesive to white cardstock and attached the negative from the deco foil.

I inked the bottom base of the card where you would be able to see through the die cut "thanks" to make it pop out more.

While I suggested that my daughter simple sign her name to the inside of the card, she insisted that she wanted to write a message to each card she was sending out.  Proud Mommy moment right there!!

Birthday Countdown

Materials: Blank 4x6" index cards

Here's a simple project that I create for my children each year for the month of their birthday.  Using Microsoft Word I add in the border to a customized paper size.  Then simply use text boxes to add in the date, countdown days, and additional text.

Then I use my crop-a-dile to add in the holes at the top of each card so that I can put them up for my babies to rip each day off.

Happy 1st Birthday Card

Machine Used: BossKut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking IV
Files Used:  Funny Farm by Designs on Cloud 9
Materials: Card stock, pop dots, chalk or ink for shading

This simple card was made for a special little girl whose first birthday theme was Old McDonald.  Using the Funny Farm by Designs on Cloud 9 file, I cut out the farm, pig, and bear.

With a little shading, I'm really happy with how these adorable cuts put together!

In the Funtime program, I created the oval and made a copy of it so that I had 2 of them.  I layered a 1 (one) on top of one of the ovals so that it would cut out.  After cutting the ovals, using pop dots, I layered one on top of the other for additional dimension.

Grandfather Clock Step Card

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Materials: Cardstock, ribbon

This card was submitted as part of the Outlawz Paper Ala Mode challenge, which required creating a project around the theme of time flies.

I started out with a simple step card and created a grandfather clock cutout to the tall part.  The clock face I found at Open Clip Art Library.  I then imported it into Funtime and utilized the print and cut feature.

I decided to try something new, and drew the top of the pendulum.  Needless to say, I've learned that maybe I should stick to creating cut files and cut them out on cardstock instead.  :o)

For the sentiment, I simply typed it into Funtime using the true type fonts Old Script, Papyrus, and Adorable.  Using the print and cut feature again, I cut the rectangle around the sentiment.

Mom's Birthday Card

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Files Used: Heart Doily Hugger Frame (purchased at Boss Kut)
Materials: White Recollections value pack of cards and envelopes, Card stock, Vinyl, 1/16" thick 3D dots, and fine Sharpie pens

Here's a simple card that I made for my Mom (obviously :o)). I used Funtime font Impress BT Regular for "Happy Birthday Mom" and 1/16" 3D dots to add dimension.  I layered red vinyl on top of light violet cardstock for the "Happy Birthday Mom."

For the Heart Doily Hugger Frame (purchased at Boss Kut) on the front, I layered red cardstock, with violet patterned paper, and then plain violet carstock.

Inside the card I used a fine Sharpie pen in the Funtime font Ballroom Tango Regular for the poem (found through a search online). The embellishment is also in Sharpie pen using Nymphette font that I downloaded from dafont.com
