My First Greeting Cards

These are my first attempt at Greeting Cards.  I generally find creating cards VERY intimidating, sooooo I tackled them head-on!!  While I'm not entirely impressed with how these turned out, I want to be able to see my progress as I continue on with making cards.

Brodie's Plate

UPDATED: 24 January 2012

I decided that after doing the birth plates for my babies that Brodie's plate needed a little something else.  So, I used the black to outline the letters in tan and added the paw prints on the sides.  MUCH happier with how it turned out!!

Original Post: 15 January 2012

While I'm not so patiently waiting on materials that I ordered to make birth plates for my babies, I had this wonderful idea:  I needed a plate for my beautiful furry four-legged baby!!

I had already decided on images for by babies plates but I wasn't sure what image I would want on Brodie's.  Then it occured to me that I could take the same simple idea of the pics for my babies plates and apply it to an actual picture!!

I'm very happy with the results and Brodie's plate with be proudly hung next to the babies plates.

Birth Plates

I am VERY happy with how these turned out!!  This has to be one of the few projects that I have done that look better completed than they did in my minds eye.  They provided quite a challenge and definitely took some time while I re-did the layout countless times.

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE MY GAZELLE?!?!  At this point (though I haven't had her for very long), I've only been limited by my imagination and my Gazelle has more than stood up to my challenges.

Be Mine Heart Bag

I found this project in my February 2012 Parents magazine and thought that it looked like fun.  I got the basic heart shaped bag design and then added "Happy Valentine's Day," the hearts, and the woman and man kissing.

Valentine's Day Bags and Boxes

In order to get myself familiarized with some of the features available on my Gazelle I made 3 different boxes.

Machine: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Materials: Cardstock, Ribbon, Red Pen

With this first bag I used the option to use a pen to write the sentiments, "I Love You", "Sweetheart", and "Be Mine."  Then I swapped the pen for the blade and cut the heart out around the sentiment and attached them to the bag.  I tied the ribbons on as handles and put the bag together!

This next box I used the print and cut feature.  Using an image that I already had on my computer, I imported it into Funtime.  I put a heart around the bear and using the decorative scissors created a scalloped border.  I then sent the image to my printer and printed out the bear.  I put the print out of the bear on my cutting board and sent the scalloped heart to be cut.  I embellished the box with a little bit of white ribbon and here ya go!

With the pillow box I typed in a name for personalization and then cut it.  I used clear plastic on the inside so that any candy inside could be seen through the name.  Then with a little bit of ribbon I decorated the top and bottom.  Easy and fun!
