Thinking of You Card and Kusudama Bouquet

Machine Used: BossKut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Files Used: Pop-Kut Butterfly Border by Judy Stark BKD152, Ruffled Butterfly by Judy Stark BKD105
Materials: Cardstock, ribbon, shank style buttons, stem wire, rhinestone
Challenges: The Outlawz Paper a la Mode - Thinking of You

It doesn't matter what time of year it is or what holidays are around the bend, sometimes you just need to let someone you know that you're thinking about them.  For this project I wanted to send a very special someone a handmade card and a bouquet of flowers that she's mentioned she likes.  :o)

With the new Pop-Kut Butterfly Border available, I just knew that I needed to use it!  It's absolutely adorable and sure to put a smile on any one's face!  With the one on this card, I added some color on part of the wings and some glitter.

I don't have a large collection of stamps with just the right sentiments but the print and cut option, it's really easy to say just the right thing.  In Funtime, I create the sentiment, with the fonts and colors I like and simply cut the shape around it!

I wrapped some thick ribbon around my card and using pop dots attached the sentiment.

With the Ruffled Butterfly, I added some glitter on the pop kuts of the wings and a rhinestone on the head.  In order to incorporate it into the bouquet, I used a floral stem wire and glued that between the the 2 pieces.  A simple addition to the bouquet that really makes it!!

A simple card and a bouquet of handmade flowers are now on their way to brighten the day of one very special woman!

Pumpkin Teapot Card and Tea Bag Gift Box

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Files Used: Pumpkin Teapot by Judy Stark BKD145, Presleys Curls by Judy Stark BKD101
Materials: Cardstock, pearl brads, ribbon
Challenges: The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge - Pumpkin Twist

When the Pumpkin Teapot by Judy Stark BKD145 was released by BossKut I was so excited to be able to use this adorable cut file!!

For the card I started by cutting out the layers and rounding out the edges in Funtime.  I didn't want to take away from the adorable teapot, so I kept it simple. I added some clear stickles to the eyes, nose, and mouth for a little more added dimension.

I added the sentiment "Take time for Tea" to Presleys Curls by Judy Stark BKD101 and used the print and cut feature to print the sentiment out with my printer. Then using stickles, I added some glitter to the curls. With a green ribbon, I threaded it through the top and bottom of the cut file to attach it to the card.

The tea bag gift box took a little more time while working with Funtime.  I first had to create the bottom of the box but with the help from the training videos available through BossKut I was easily able to create it.  Then I took the border of the teapot and copied it so that I had 2 (this will create the front and the back of the gift box.  With the welding tool in Funtime, I attached one of the teapots to each side of the bottom of the box I created and welded them all together.  I added some kiss cut lines to where I wanted the gift box to fold and voila!!  My gift box is completed and now all I had to do was decorate it.

After cutting out the teapot and the lid, I added a small piece of yellow paper behind the eyes, nose, and mouth.  Then I added some clear stickles to the eyes, nose, and mouth to give it some more dimension.  The green ribbon at the top holds the gift box together until you're ready for some tea!!

Thinking of You Step Card

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Files Used: O'Hannah Oval Frame Set by Judy Stark BKD129
Materials: Cardstock, pearl heart brads, purple rhinestones
Challenges: The Outlawz Paper a la Mode - Thinking of You

Here a simple step card that I made to send to one very special lady in my life.  I started by creating a 4.25 x 5.5" step card in Funtime.  I've made this file available in the Gazelle Owner's Forum under *File Sharing*.

For the bottom border, I had to weld a few more the decorative pieces together to get it long enough.  After attaching it to the card, I added some purple rhinestones.

I added the sentiment to the oval frame and used a couple of pearl heart brads to secure it to the card.

Candy Cauldron

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Files Used: Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, Happy Halloween Banner by Judy Stark BKD132, Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135
Materials: Black plastic cauldron (I purchased mine at Jo-Ann's), vinyl, ribbon, ¼ " high tack X-Press It double sided tape

Have you ever noticed as a crafter you can't look at something plain without a ton of ideas on how to make it prettier?!  Something I may have passed up before, with my Gazelle I look at everything and see endless possibilities.

After seeing this plain black cauldron I just knew I needed a new candy dish.  Why, I'm not entirely sure because we live in the middle of nowhere down a private drive . . . we never have any trick-or-treaters.  So I sweetly suggested to my husband that we fill the candy dish to the top and whatever we have left over after Halloween we'll just keep.  For some reason he just laughed at me!!  I get that A LOT though.

I started out by cutting the Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, Happy Halloween Banner by Judy Stark BKD132, and Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135 in white vinyl (each was sized to 2 ½ inches high).

With the Corner End Spider Web Banner by Judy Stark, I ended up cutting out an extra spider in purple so that I could add some color.

For the Ghost Banner by Judy Stark BKD135 I cut out the "Boo" in orange and layered it over the white vinyl.

To add the ribbon on the top, I used ¼" high tack X-Press It double sided tape.

I cut out various size circles in purple, orange, and white vinyl to add around the top of the cauldron.  There was no pattern, I just removed each of the circles from the vinyl backing and placed it where ever the mood struck me.

Now I just need to get to the store to purchase the candy to fill this lonely cauldron.  ;o)

String Art Anniversary Card

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Materials: Cardstock, embroidery thread
Challenges: The Outlawz Clean and Simple - Anything Goes

First and foremost, Happy Anniversary my Sweetheart.  I love you with all my heart and am so blessed to be married to my bestfriend, soul mate, and hero!

For this card I ventured into the art of spirelli and string art.  It was something I saw in one of the challenges I enjoy participating in and decided immediatelt that it was something that I wanted to try.  I love the look of it and am always looking at ways to expand my knowledge on ways to add to my paper crafting.

For the spirelli part I used the scalloped eyelet oval frames that Terri provided to participants of a challenge within the BossKut Forum.  Using the print and cut option with my Gazelle, I printed out my sentiment and cut the circle around it.

For the string art, I got the sail boat pattern for free and sized it appropriately to my card.

Another technique self taught and I'm thinking that you may be seeing this used again!

Friendship Bracelet

Materials: embroidery thread, clasp

While this isn't the crafting that I usually do, it was something my dearest daughter asked for.  She saw a friendship bracelet and immediately wanted one too!  Then came in the requests, it had to be purple because that's her favorite color.  Then she wanted hearts.  Yes dear, we'll see what can do!!  :o)

Now, it's been a looonngg time since I've made one of these.  Thankfully for the internet I was able to refresh the technique and find a pattern for hearts.  I alternated the pattern a bit to be able to change the color of the heart.

After finding what I needed, I asked her if it would be OK to add in some pink too (after all it would be hard to see the heart if the whole thing was the same color ;o)).

She hovered over me during each knot I tied and constantly asked if I was done yet.  Fortunately her wrists are so tiny it didn't take too long and I was able to finally put it on her wrist.

As she always is, she was very appreciative of the bracelet and even went so far to say that it made her look like a princess.  Of course, I always think she looks like a princess.  :o)

Welcome to the Family Card

Machine Used: Boss Kut Gazelle
Software: Funtime Scrapbooking III
Materials: Cardstock, google eyes
Files: Acorn
Challenges: The Outlawz Paper a la Mode Challenge - Welcome project theme

Crafting is my outlet when things seem to be at their worst.  It's a great way for me to lose myself and my thoughts to something I truly enjoy.  It also helps that my children enjoy watching me and help from time to time . . . well, as much as any 3 or 2 year-old can.  :o)  Crafting puts a smile on my face and takes the tension out of my body!  I LOVE IT!!

For this project the theme was "Welcome" and I can't tell you how perfect the timing was on this!  Taking some cues from my family, it was easy to decide to add some nuts to this card.  I finished off the nuts with some google eyes.

On the inside of the card I used my computer to print out the following sentiment.

Fonts used for the message in the card include Goudy Handtooled, Honey Script, Care Bear Family, Harrington, and Jokerman.
